Leigh Baker

Welcome to the world of regenerative thinking in action.

I’m an Australian supply chain consultant turned writer and sustainability blogger (also occasional podcaster).

I spent many years working as a supply chain consultant in factories, mines and warehouses.

So I know how our “stuff” is made and delivered – along with just how much time and energy the core challenges of keeping a business in daily operation demand.

My work today is communicating ideas and helping people expand their vision of the world – especially the wealth of regenerative business opportunities on offer in the world of SME business.

I know business from the inside

In my time installing Enterprise Resource Planning systems in Australian industry, my main value-add was translating IT jargon into “business” – and business requirements into systems designs.

Along the way, I learned the critical importance of human communications and relationships in successful business innovation.

For a time I was a professional coach and trainer, helping business managers turn their plans into effective team action.

These days I apply my translation skills to the written word – writing for myself and for others. I also do 1:1 coaching and mentoring online. That gives me the freedom to travel and to follow my passion for regenerative business..

I explore the opportunity side of sustainability on this blog and help businesses communicate more effectively online with web content and copy.

I’m an ideas junkie, combining new concepts with old wisdom to uncover a wealth of opportunities

I (mostly) live in the hills outside Melbourne (Australia, not Canada) and do regular road trips to explore the beauty of the outback.

I have a wonderful husband, a forest garden full of birds and some amazing collaborators.

I’ve been an owner builder, and was hands on for years building our home in the hills and its bird-friendly garden.

I’m addicted to the written word, new ideas and the power of story telling.

I read sci fi, fantasy, innovation, sustainability, business development and communication in about equal amounts.

I’m seriously hooked on the opportunity side of sustainability – regenerative business

I first discovered the positive, inspiring business solutions side of sustainability back in 2002.

I’ve been exploring sustainability, business opportunity and innovation ever since.

In 2009, I wrote The Deep Green Profit Handbook as a short guide to the hidden business opportunities of sustainability – and now it’s a FREE email course.

For people seeking inspiration on the wealth of opportunities in regenerative business, I offer coaching and mentoring on Regenerative Thinking In Action.

In 2021 I started podcasting – talking about the fun and opportunities of climate solutions on Regenomics Down Under.

Other projects are An Inconvenient Species, and Regenerative Business discussion groups on LinkedIn and other social platforms.
